Freedom Fighters

Carlos and Sara Salazar of Moonachie, NJ are well versed in the concepts of freedom and opportunity. Carlos' parents immigrated to the U.S. from Colombia, South America and Sara's parents emigrated from Peru. Both journeyed to the U.S. in search of a better future and a new start. It was their willingness to take a chance and search for something more that fueled Carlos' and Sara's own ambitions for the future.

Before joining Primerica, Carlos attended business school and interned on Wall Street. He knew from the beginning that he wanted to own his own business and believed he was well on his way. Then he went to a meeting about Primerica and learned where his true destiny lay.

"I learned more about finances in one hour at a Primerica meeting than I had in all of my years in school," Carlos remembers. He immediately decided that Primerica was the perfect way to own his own business. He started part-time and went full-time into the business once he graduated from college.1

"I never wanted a boss or to be told what to do," he insists. "I didn't want to report to someone else. Being in business for yourself is the way to go. It's the only real way to have the freedom to control your life and how much money you make."

Sara, whose parents own their tax accountant business, also knew that business ownership was key to building wealth and living a life of freedom. After attending art school and building her Primerica business part-time, Sara eventually quit school to focus full-time on her Primerica business.

With Primerica, Carlos and Sara have the chance to work for themselves, without going it alone. Plus, they reap the benefits of all their hard work through recognition, commission payouts and the freedom and flexibility to work when they want.

Another aspect of Primerica that Carlos loves is partnership. Primerica believes that two people working toward the same goal makes for a stronger team. Carlos and Sara work their business together as partners. Both are committed to working hard now so they can ultimately enjoy their lives together as financially free people.

"Our parents came to the U.S. looking for an opportunity," Carlos says. "We decided that Primerica was ours. Every successful person we know has a business and that's what we've always wanted too. We have the advantage of being young. We can work hard now and retire young and financially independent."
